Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is often referred to as the silent disease. It is a condition that causes the bones to lose density which can make them prone to breaking from minimal trauma, such as a minor bump. Osteoporosis can be debilitating for those who suffer from it and it can affect both the young and old.

Trauma insurance (also known as critical illness insurance) covers the life insured for a wide range of illness’s, conditions and accidents. Many insurance companies that have comprehensive trauma policies will offer a partial trauma benefit if the life insured is diagnosed with osteoporosis.

The partial benefit of a trauma insurance policy will pay out as a lump sum figure if the life insured is diagnosed with osteoporosis. This lump sum figure (which is nominated by the life insured at the time of application) will assist in paying medical expenses, mortgage repayments and other personal and household bills, as well as the loss of income that might occur.
