The Accelerated Protection Critical Illness Insurance policy will pay a lump sum if the insured is diagnosed with a specified medical condition such as cancer, heart attack, or stroke.

With TAL’s Accelerated Protection Critical Illness Insurance, the insured will be paid out a lump sum benefit if they are diagnosed with a covered critical illness. These conditions may include stroke, cancer, or heart attack. This benefit will be paid even if the insured is still able to work.

Some of the standard features that are included in the Critical Illness Insurance from TAL include:

  • Premium Freeze Benefit
  • Guaranteed Future Insurability Benefit
  • Financial Planning Benefit
  • Accommodation Benefit
  • Grief Counselling Benefit
  • Childs’ Critical Illness Benefit

Applicants may apply for the Accelerated Protection Critical Illness insurance as early as age 16 and up through age 60 or 62, depending on the type of premiums that are paid. The maximum amount of benefit that may be applied for is $2 million.

The Accelerated Protection Critical Illness Insurance policies will expire on the policy anniversary before the insured turns age 70, or on the policy anniversary before the insured turns age 100 if the policy is attached or linked to life insurance.
